Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer with strong expertise in Next.js, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern web application development to design and develop a public-facing registration and permit management portal.

The successful candidate will contribute to building scalable, secure, accessible, and responsive web applications while integrating front-end solutions with Microsoft Dynamics CRM through MuleSoft middleware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale public-facing web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

  • Build responsive, accessible, and reusable UI components using HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, and modern front-end frameworks.

  • Develop and integrate REST APIs and RESTful web services with enterprise back-end systems.

  • Integrate public-facing applications with Microsoft Dynamics CRM through MuleSoft middleware.

  • Apply microservices architecture, object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and clean coding practices.

  • Implement and maintain accessibility standards in compliance with WCAG and AODA.

  • Optimize application performance, scalability, security, extensibility, and maintainability.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, developers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Lead technical discussions, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.

  • Troubleshoot complex application issues and implement effective technical solutions.

  • Maintain technical documentation, solution designs, and knowledge transfer materials.

  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools, including Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, and LLMs, to improve development productivity and automation.

  • Support Agile development, continuous improvement, and timely project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-client web applications.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.

  • 5+ years of experience with Node.js/NPM and RxJS.

  • 5+ years of experience developing and integrating REST APIs and RESTful web services.

  • 3+ years of experience with Bootstrap and jQuery.

  • 3+ years of experience using Git for version control.

  • Practical experience with Next.js and Vue.js.

  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and modern web application design.

  • Experience with responsive web development and cross-browser compatibility.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing WCAG and AODA accessibility standards.

  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, refactoring, and clean code.

  • Experience with technical leadership, mentoring, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with the Ontario Public Service (OPS) or other public-sector organizations.

  • Experience integrating applications with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and MuleSoft.

  • Familiarity with Java-based enterprise applications.

  • Experience using Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, and large language models (LLMs) in software development.

  • Experience delivering government-facing digital services and registration or permit management systems.
