Front-End Developer

Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to design, develop, and maintain web-based applications, architectures, and frameworks. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to refine requirements, navigate ambiguity, and translate high-fidelity designs into responsive, accessible, and high-quality user interfaces.

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of four days per week at our downtown Toronto office and/or the client office. This requirement is subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications, architectures, and frameworks.
• Create wireframes and mock-ups using Figma or a comparable design tool.
• Translate high-fidelity prototypes into detailed, responsive user interfaces.
• Build data services and manage application state using NGXS, NgRx, or similar technologies.
• Develop solutions using reactive programming libraries such as RxJS.
• Integrate applications with RESTful APIs and implement asynchronous request handling.
• Work directly with business stakeholders to refine requirements and address ambiguity.
• Apply UI/UX principles, responsive design techniques, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
• Optimize front-end application performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and leadership while working both collaboratively and autonomously.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 5+ years of experience in a front-end development role.
• Proven expertise in front-end development, supported by a portfolio of successfully completed projects.
• Multiple years of experience designing wireframes and mock-ups using Figma or a comparable tool, as well as developing and maintaining web-based applications, architectures, and frameworks.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, Node.js, and related front-end technologies.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
• Proficiency in building data services and managing application state using NGXS, NgRx, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency with reactive programming libraries such as RxJS.
• Knowledge of UI/UX principles, responsive design techniques, and WCAG.
• Strong problem-solving, business communication, stakeholder management, and application performance optimization skills.
• Advanced knowledge and experience working with large, disparate datasets from multiple sources and formats.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $90,000 –$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
