Intermediate Frontend Developer

Neo Financial
Full-time
On-site
Calgary, Canada

The Role

Neo Financial is looking for an Intermediate Front-End Developer to join our team in Calgary.

In this role, you will collaborate with other talented devs, deliver high quality code and contribute to exciting and impactful projects. You‘ll work on building world class web technologies while following best practices like agile, automated testing, code reviews, and continuous delivery. You’ll work with cutting edge tools and patterns, constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in web development.

Our technology stack is built using modern, bleeding-edge tools like React, Next.js, Typescript and GraphQL, and hosted on Vercel.

We’re super-charging our developers with AI, leveraging tools like Github Copilot and Cursor to fuel rapid development, and building our own agentic systems with Gemini to empower our teams.

What you'll be doing:

  • Write exemplary code in Typescript to create best-in-class web-based interfaces, and reusable components that interface with our GraphQL Hive API
  • Create web-based interfaces and re-usable interface components with Typescript and React
  • Learn the patterns and practices needed to build robust, scalable code
  • Perform meaningful code reviews with in-depth yet constructive criticism; give and take feedback
  • Actively work on high quality unit and integration testing
  • Ensure solutions actually meet customer and business needs - not just minimum defined requirements

Who we are looking for:

  • Fluent in React and TypeScript
  • Advanced knowledge of programming principles and one or two programming languages  - alongside keen interest to expand your skills to encompass new languages and technologies, especially in the realm of AI-assisted development.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, Vercel a plus
  • Understanding of infrastructure basics and debugging or maintaining code in production
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada and willing to relocate to Calgary.
