Frontend Developer

Your new role and environment.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Front-End Developer to join our development team. You'll be working on the continuous development and optimization of the e-commerce platforms for two iconic Dutch retail brands, Gall & Gall and Etos.

In this role you'll bring modern front-end practices to life, delivering high-performance, accessible, and responsive web experiences. You write clean, maintainable code, you care about how things feel for the end user, and you know how to build seamless interfaces that align with back-end systems and business logic.

You'll work as part of a larger IT development team responsible for the full end-to-end tech landscape of Gall & Gall and Etos, closely collaborating with back-end developers, designers, and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of your role.

• Build responsive, accessible and high-performing front-end features with HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript.
• Translate designs into scalable, reusable UI components and integrate them with back-end APIs and business logic.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility, fast load times and mobile-first design using front-end performance best practices.
• Integrate third-party services (payments, personalization, analytics) via APIs, ensuring reliability and scalability. Contribute to Agile development and CI/CD workflows.

Requirements.

We think you'll be best geared for success if you can meet the following requirements:

• Extensive front-end development experience with HTML5 and CSS3.
• Strong, hands-on command of vanilla JavaScript.
• You understand the language itself, not just a framework on top of it.
• Working knowledge of at least one modern framework (React, Vue, Angular or similar).
• Experience with version control (Git), build tools, and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong focus on performance, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design.
• Ability to work closely with UX/UI teams and translate designs into scalable code.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, agile development environment.
• Experience integrating third-party services and APIs. Familiarity with back-end development and how front-end work connects to larger systems.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), ideally SFRA, including ISML templates, cartridges, and page design. This is a plus, not a requirement, we're happy to help the right person get up to speed.
