We are opening the search for a very important role at Parable, and hiring our first Front-End Engineer.

This person will be instrumental in building the user experience that helps companies transform how they understand and optimize their most precious resource - time. You'll work at the intersection of front-end development, AI and data visualization, creating interfaces and digital parables that make complex insights accessible and actionable.

You're as comfortable diving deep into React components and state management as you are optimizing API endpoints and database queries if needed.

• Is passionate about data visualization. You have a keen eye for design and experience building interactive data visualizations. You understand that presenting complex data insights in an intuitive way is crucial for driving user engagement and understanding.

• Thrives in ambiguity. You understand that building a new product category requires experimentation and iteration. You have experience working in fast-paced environments and you've developed a sixth sense for balancing speed with quality.

• Is a lean experimenter at heart. You believe in shipping to learn, but you also know how to build for scale. You have a track record of delivering results in one-third the time that most competent engineers think possible, not by cutting corners, but through smart architectural decisions and iterative development.

You will be responsible for:

• Building and maintaining our core web application, focusing on creating intuitive interfaces for complex data visualization and analysis

• Developing responsive, performant front-end components using modern React practices and state management solutions

• Creating and maintaining backend APIs and services that power our front-end applications

• Working closely with our design team to implement pixel-perfect, accessible user interfaces

• Collaborating with our data science and AI teams to present complex insights in user-friendly ways

• Contributing to our technical architecture decisions and establishing front-end development standards

• Implementing analytics and monitoring solutions to understand user behavior and application performance

In your first 3 months, you'll:

• Build and ship core features of our web application, working closely with design partners to iterate based on feedback

• Establish our front-end architecture and component library

• Create reusable visualization components for presenting time and attention insights

• Implement key backend services and APIs to support our front-end applications

• Set up our front-end testing and deployment infrastructure

• Partner with our data science team to create interactive data exploration tools

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience building full-stack web applications

• Strong expertise in modern TypeScript and React

• Experience with backend development in languages like Python, Node.js, or similar

• Proven track record building and maintaining production REST APIs

• Experience with SQL databases and data modeling

• Strong understanding of web performance optimization and responsive design

• Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js, Recharts)

• Background in computer science or related field preferred

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus
